          Knockpatrick Campus

For many people in the country of Jamaica, 1958 served as the beginning of a new era of hope and promise. It was during this year that CCCD opened and began instilling in those who could not hear the greatest message that any could ever hope to hear: “Jesus loves you!”

The Knockpatrick campus, located in the south central portion of the island, currently serves over 135 deaf students. Because the work with deaf children requires much individual instruction, classes are kept small in order to provide maximum learning opportunities.

The school buildings are substantial and practical, consisting of classrooms, a chapel, library, dining room, kitchen, and dormitories. Staff housing and vocational facilities are also located on the grounds, along with recreational fields and farming areas. The vegetable gardens and pastureland provide a significant amount of food for the campus, and surplus is sold to support the ministry.

CCCD’s Knockpatrick campus has a nationally recognized vocational program for older students in which the young people can gain skills in carpentry and woodworking, cosmetology, food preparation, sewing and computer technology.

          Montego Bay

Our God, who is able to do incredibly more than we ask or think, allowed CCCD to open another school in Jamaica through a generous gift of 7 ½ acres in Montego Bay on the 29th of August 1994. The land is on a lovely hilltop overlooking a section of the bay. There are currently 52 students at the Montego Bay Campus.

Construction is being done by volunteer church groups from North America who go to Jamaica for one or two weeks. These groups sacrifice time, talent and funds to see more than just a building go up; they see the Kingdom of God furthered. These buildings are for deaf children who can be touched with the message of God.

The Montego Bay campus of CCCD has a classroom building, administrative building, dorm, and two houses for staff. Construction continues on the classroom building and a vocational building. CCCD uses the residential or “boarding” concept because the deaf children are so scattered throughout the country.

          Kingston

The Kingston Campus is reaching deaf children in the capital city of Jamaica. It is a two acre campus in the heart of the city of Kingston, where half of the deaf population on the island live. There are currently 74 students in residence at the Kingston Campus.

Construction work continues on the student dorm and on apartments for staff. Work teams are needed in order to continue the building projects.
